Clique-Minded
Most of us have ‘our people’. I certainly do. But, ‘my people’ continue to expand and grow.
How about you? Are you clique-minded or warm and welcoming? In your workplace, be it an office, a church building, construction crew, hospital or caregiver environment are you all about the clique? What about at school or on your college campus?
How do you interact with the ‘newbie’? The new kid, the new employee/staff person, the new church member? Let’s go a step further. What about the person you speak to but never take a moment to engage in conversation with or invite to the table you share with ‘your people’. Are you clique-minded? Introspection is uncomfortable! Are you willing to be uncomfortable today? When was the last time you took a moment to talk with someone you see regularly but do not engage with unless necessary?
Jesus had ‘His people’, the twelve disciples, BUT…He invited everyone to walk and talk with Him.
I am working on being more Jesus-minded and a little less clique-minded. I will always have ‘my people’, but you are welcome to join us.
