The Buck Stops Here

I had been a student of leadership for a long time; its study is lifelong. Why? Leaders never stop learning.  You listen, you learn, you lead. I have seen many carry the title leader, but lack the understanding  and final responsibility of what it means. A title is just a title without actions or supporters. Here’s a question, have you been in a room with a title holder, but the leader was someone else? I have, and have learned from experience that the title holder is not always the leader in the room.

The phrase “The buck stops here” was made popular by President Harry Truman.
When you lead, the buck stops with you.
John Maxwell says, “A leader can give up anything except final responsibility.”

Have you reviewed your leadership lens lately?  If your team misses the mark, who bears responsibility?  If your inclination is to reply, the team.  Join me in growing as a leader. Realize your need for humble reflection and understanding.
The buck always stops with you. You cannot pass final responsibility or shift it, if you want your team and others to follow in your direction.

Leaders, if you want to pass something, pass humility, servanthood, value, and authenticity.
Others will see your vision once you have cleaned your lens.
