It’s Thanksgiving
Turkeys are roasting (or deep frying-is that still a thing?) The honey and butter glisten on the golden brown. My dad enjoyed deep frying turkey. It was a family favorite. My mother still prepared the oven bird, too, my personal preference.
Pies are baking…pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, rhubarb…I’m all about the sweet potato today-everyday!
Coconut, chocolate and pound cake in their glass cake displays just waiting to be sliced.
Green beans have been cleaned and snapped. Potatoes loaded with butter, ready for mashing. Yum, yum…
Other vegetables and trays fill the kitchen.
Oh, the sweet aroma of Thanksgiving.
My hope is that you will enjoy the bounty of this season; savoring every moment.
Thanksgiving is much more than the delectable meal. It’s EVERYTHING we have received. It’s every expression of gratitude.
I am thankful for you today; thankful for all the LORD has done.
Praying you express gratitude to those who’ll prepare your meals, those with whom you will share the day, those who have sacrificed for your freedom to celebrate and gratitude to God who created all things.
Enjoy Thanksgiving and appreciate
all that you’ve been given.
Then, go a step further and share.
Thankful, grateful and blessed to pass it on…
A cornucopia-a horn of plenty.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
